In a bold move aligned with the future of mobility, Mahindra is preparing to unveil four brand-new SUV concepts on 15th August 2025, under its upcoming Freedom_NU initiative. The latest teaser, Vision SXT, offers an exciting glimpse into what could be Mahindra’s next big step toward global markets.
What is Vision SXT?
Described as “a vision designed for bold adventures,” the Vision SXT appears to be an off-road-focused SUV. Its design borrows elements from the previously teased Vision S, such as:
- Clamshell bonnet with sharp grooves
- External bonnet hinges
- Flared wheel arches
- Wide, rugged tyres
At the front, Vision SXT stands tall with an upright profile and a protruding bumper — possibly designed to accommodate a winch or tow hooks in the production version. The aesthetic leans into a military-style ruggedness, suggesting that Mahindra is pushing the boundaries of tough yet stylish SUV design.

A New Design Language with Global Aspirations
The NU platform, which underpins Vision SXT, as well as the earlier Vision S and Vision T, represents a fresh design departure from Mahindra’s current SUV lineup. The approach is clearly aimed at both Indian and international markets, where design, durability, and flexibility matter more than ever.
Interestingly, Vision SXT could either be an all-new SUV or possibly the base for a Scorpio-N-inspired pickup truck, maybe even an electric one. This builds upon the ICE-based Scorpio N pickup concept previously showcased in South Africa in 2023. With Mahindra pickups already being well-received globally, the new platform could help boost its presence even further.
Multi-Energy Powertrains – The NU Platform Advantage
All four upcoming concepts are said to be built on Mahindra’s NU multi-energy architecture, designed to support a variety of powertrains including:
- Petrol
- Diesel
- Hybrid
- Battery Electric
This flexible approach is Mahindra’s answer to the evolving automotive landscape, where EV adoption is growing but full electrification is still years away. Platforms like NU allow the brand to adapt quickly, offering cleaner choices without compromising on performance.
What’s Next?
One more concept, yet to be revealed, is expected to complete Mahindra’s Vision lineup for the August 15 event. Judging by the teasers, the brand is carefully laying the groundwork for its next generation of adventure-ready vehicles.
